On Sunday Dec. 12, a dozen hardy members braved uncertain weather to meet at the home of the Baars, for our traditional Christmas lunch.

As a pre-dinner amusement, Jim McCollum had organized a “blind wine tasting”.  He challenged us to distinguish among Beaujolais Nouveau, Vino Nuvello from Italy, and a regular Beaujolais.  Much discussion, debate, and cogitation ensued

Careful consideration

When all was said and done, the only person to correctly identify all three wines was the one person who didn’t actually taste any of them!  Congratulations to Fabienne.

We then proceeded to enjoy a wonderful potluck meal, contributed by all present, but organized by Carla.

The afternoon ended with a brief slide show of the club’s activites during 2010, and a discussion of business for 2011.
