The VéloSolex and the 2CV are “brothers from different mothers”. Both were introduced in 1948, both were produced in 7 million units, and both occupy a special place in post-war French folklore. At the World Meeting, the Solex is the single best way to get around the site. They are everywhere. I love hearing their quiet purr behind me, and turning to see someone (or sometimes two people) grinning as the bike buzzes past. In addition, the Solex has a place of honour in some of the nostalgic installation on the site.
