It seems that San Francisco California has program to encourage the creation of pedestrian-friendly spaces to replace on-street parking.  They are referred to as parklets.  Most are fairly conventional, but one has raised a few eyebrows.

A local bike shop has converted an old Citroën H-van into a parklet, placed directly in front of their shop.  It is meant as an homage to the H-van chase vehicles formerly used in the Tour de France bike race.

Unfortunately, there is disagreement about esthetics or possibly about philosophy, which may make this interesting creation a short-lived one.  See it while you can.
